Question
Q
What's the difference between computer science and computer engineering?
Answer(s)
A
There is significant overlap between these two majors. Each takes classes from the other department. Computer engineers work more with hardware than CS majors do.Computer engineers also learn a fair amount about electronics, including circuits, signals, systems, and transmission lines. Both work with computer software. The main difference is that CS majors write the code that runs the computer. The CMPE major writes code to run on the CS major's software to perform engineering tasks or solve engineering problems.
