Graduating Seniors Commissioned

Torrey Given, a Mechanical Engineering major, and Khemmer Porter, an Electrical Engineering major, were commissioned as 2nd Lieutenants in the United States Army.  The Utah State University Army ROTC Commissioning Ceremony took place on Friday May 1, 2009 in the Eccles Conference Center.

Col. Robert L. Dunton addressed all the commissionees to stay in shape, keep learning, and know their history.  After each took the Oath of Office, were pinned, and had their first salute as new lieutenants, awards were presented.  Dunton then presented each with a copy of Courage Undaunted by Stephen Ambrose, and encouraged them to read it.

The College of Engineering congratulates all of these students from the Army and the Air Force on their graduation and new commissions!
