PhD Summer Meetings

1. First Summer Meeting.
   1. At this meeting we’ll be looking for the following information:
      • Research pre-proposal (a summary of the area of research you are planning to explore).
      • A 3–4-year research plan.
      • Tentative Program of Study.
      • Supervisory Committee Members.
   2. Note that your goal is to have a final research proposal prepared for the following year at your second summer meeting.
2. Second Summer Meeting.
   1. At this meeting we’ll be looking for the following information:
      • Defense of your dissertation proposal.
      • Preparations made toward your dissertation defense.
      • Copy of your Program of Study.
      • Discuss conferences/papers/presentations you have or will attend.
3. Third Summer Meeting.
   1. At this meeting we’ll be looking for the following information:
      • Progress of research.
      • Discuss conferences/papers/presentations you have or will attend.
      • Dissertation defense date and time
      • Stumbling blocks and achievements.
