Closed book.
Formula sheet will be given at time of exam. If you would like a copy of the formula sheet before the exam, see the GPC.

Advice

Focus on

Chapters 1-3, 5-10 & 12.

Exclude

5.7, The Semi-Infinite Solid.
5.8, Objects with Constant Surface Temperatures or Surface Heat Fluxes.
5.10, Finite-Difference Methods.

Note that some formulas may appear on the sheets that are from the excluded sections. Some of the more recent versions of the text include material on advanced topics such as bio-heat-transfer. It is not necessary to study that material.
