Steps to Earning My Master’s Plan C
The MS Plan C requires coursework only.
- Your advisor.
- Plan C students have only an advisor instead of a full committee. Check with the GPC to see who advises for each Plan C program (AERO, MECH, SPACE, COMP)
- Complete a Program of Study (PoS).
- The PoS is a contract between the student, committee, and SGS regarding what courses the student will take to meet SGS and department requirements and complete the degree program.
- Use the appropriate checklist of requirements (AERO, MECH, SPACE, COMP) to create your PoS. Your GPC and/or advisor will help you select courses that fit your area of research.
- Email the PoS to the GPC who will then submit it for approval from your advisor and SGS.
- Due by the end of the second semester.
- What next?
- At the start of your final semester, notify the GPC of your plan to complete. The GPC will email the SGS a list of all Plan C completions for the semester.
- The SGS will email you instruction on what to do to apply for graduation, commencement, and any other requirements you need to fulfill.
- Awarding of degree
- The SGS will do a final review of your file to make sure all forms and steps are complete. If anything is missing, the SGS will email a list of missing items to you and the GPC. If all steps are complete, the SGS will email you the degree award date and any post-completion information.
- Diplomas are mailed approximately eight weeks after the semester ends by the Registrar's Office. Notify the Registrar's Office if you think you should have received your diploma and have not.
